1970 saw a young Peter Flood join us and he went on to spend 5 happy years at Knock . He read law at UCD and afterwards worked in an accountancy firm, but the lure of the creative industries called and saw Peter headed off to the UK to work for Channel 4, then the emerging new Television channel. This was no surprise to us, for most mentions of Peter in the chronicles find him excelling in drama & debating. He went to become highly regarded as an executive film producer in the independent television sector and following doctoral studies at Dublin City University as a renowned lecturer on the subject.

Then when holidaying in Germany, summer 2002, Peter was diagnosed with a rare, bilateral infarct to his brain stem, which led to severe quadriplegia and loss of motor function. The severity of the condition meant Peter had to remain in Germany to avail of the expert treatment at the Universität Klinikum in Dusseldorf. So from that 2002 holiday Peter never managed to return home to live, but Ireland always remained home and he took the HSE to court to prove that point. Peter wasn't one to dwell on his misfortune and his indomitable spirit allied with the loving care of his partner Oona saw him continue to deliver lectures when his strength would allow. April 7, 2014 his battle against the illness Peter had borne with such heroic fortitude, came to an end.

To his his partner Oana, children Alexandra and Sebastian, sister Margaret and all family and friends, we extend our heartfelt condolences.
