Michael Cuddy, class '51
The Union was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Michael Cuddy (class '51), brother of Robert (Bobby) (class '52), father of John (class '79) and uncle of Noel (class '79).
Michael played in three Leinster Cup winning campaigns with Bective Rangers. In 1958 he made his debut for Leinster, an ever present member of the side for three seasons. Further honours followed with three Irish trials and he was substitute twice for Ireland.
He was also a noted administrator, 10 years the Bective representative on the Leinster Branch before becoming chairman of the selection committee at a time when the province won four interprovincial titles. He chaired the national selection committee in 1984-85, coinciding with Ireland's last Triple Crown success.
Cuddy, Michael,( Howth Co. Dublin) (Past President of the I.R.F.U.) peacefully on 10th July 2020 ; beloved husband of Helen and the late Mida, loving father of John, Sarah and Michael and the late Brigitte and Lisa. Sadly missed by his loving family, brother Bobby, sisters Annette and Margaret, daughters - in – law Orna and Aoife, grandchildren Marguerite and Ivor, extended family and friends.

A private family funeral will take place due to government advice regarding public gatherings. Those who would have liked to attend the funeral, but cannot, due to current restrictions, may leave a personal message in the section “ Condolences” below. To his extended family and many friends,We will celebrate his life at a private funeral Mass on Tuesday 14th July, which you are welcome to join by live streaming at 11am on the St. Fintan's Parish website.
