Michael Bohn, class '66
The Union was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Michael Bohn (class '66), son of the late Joe (class '32), brother of Desmond (class '63), Brendan (class '68) and Kevin (class '72).
Michael was one of 4 Brothers from Plymouth in the U.K that were in Castleknock between 1958 -- 1972 and their Father before them 1930 -- 32
On leaving Castleknock he graduated from U.C.D in 1970 and then went on to do Voluntary Services Overseas V.S.O in Kenya for 2 years.
This was followed by a short period working for Oxfam in the U.K followed by working on major projects in Africa for Save the Children in different locations,
U.S Action Aid in Khartoum Sudan, an Irrigation Project in Lesotho and also a period in Botswana.
He returned to the U.K eventually in 1986 after 15 years of voluntary service overall in Africa and then worked for Plymouth City Council in Job Creation Schemes providing Youth Employment until struck down by a Spinal injury causing substantial Disability for the remaining 12 years of his life.
He certainly gave a life of service for good causes.
May he rest in Peace.
Requiescat in Pace
