Brendan Guerin, class '48
The Union was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Brendan Guerin (class '48).
Formerly of Brooklawn, Knocknacarra Road and Cappoquin Co. Waterford. Brendan died peacefully after a short illness in the tender loving care of the Matron and staff at Áras Chois Fharraige, Spiddal with his daughter Fionnuala and son Shane at his side. Darling husband of 55 years and best friend to his late wife Phil and pre-deceased by his loving sister Phyllis, much-loved father of Fionnuala, Deirdre, Enda and Shane. Mourned and sadly missed by all his family, his son-in-law Michael, his daughters-in-law Maria and Celene, his nine grandchildren Laura, Patrick, Néill, Mollie, Connor, Joe, Eve, Myles and Isabel, his niece Fiona and his many friends.
A private family funeral will be celebrated for Brendan on Tuesday, 30th March, 2021 in accordance with current Covid-19 restrictions. The attendance at the church and at the cemetery will be limited to 10 people but we look forward to celebrating his long life with everyone when it is safe to do so.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Brendan at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill and this Mass will be streamed live if you would like to participate online. Following Mass he will be laid to rest with Phil in Rahoon Cemetery.
