Good Friday Retreat 2011

Fr Bob Whiteside led this year’s annual Good Friday retreat. Fr Bob has a deep interest in “the delivery of the message” and has wonderful homiletic, liturgical and communication skills.

Record numbers turned up for a really outstanding day’s thought. Fr. Bob delivered his thoughts through stories and has a most extraordinary ability to be understood. The term “Holy Joe” was never mentioned, nor indeed was flagellation or mortification. The day could be summed up… “it is only in stillness that we can come to know who we are. Only when we are in the process of knowing who we are can we go beyond ourselves.”
