Business Lunch 2016
Photo Gallery
April 8th, a past man for each day of the year, that would be 365, gathered in Dublin for the Annual Business Lunch hosted by Union President, Lorcan Tiernan.
Fr. Roderic Crowley, C.M., of class '47 opened proceedings with grace, and over the course of a fine lunch Lorcan announced the imminent launch of a Union Scholarship Fund focused on sending pupils to the College that otherwise could not afford it. This initiative was warmly welcomed on behalf of the College, by the Headmaster, Oliver Murphy.
Between courses, the guest speaker, John Bruton, opened with an apology for his own Clongowian roots, but assured all that the better half of his extended family were indeed Knock men, including his father-in-law!
Ticket prices for the 10th year in a row were kept at €50 and this we can only do because of our corporate sponsors, so thank you to Merrion Private, our lead lunch sponsor through the good offices of Johnny Lynch, class '93 and not forgetting our perennial secondary sponsors: Dillon Eustace (Lorcan Tiernan, '88), Jones Engineering Group (Mark Curley, '06), Mason Hayes & Curran (David O’Donnell, '84) and Newman Mulligan & Associates (Tom Mulligan, '83).
To cap it all off, past men generosity on the day raised €4,596 for charity.
