Table Tennis
HOLDERS OF the Collins Cup and the Schools' Shield, we looked forward again to a very successful year of Table Tennis. We had four of last year's team: J. O'Donoghue, W. O'Donoghue, J. Ennis, and T. Cleary. B. McAuliffe and M. Quirke completed the team. After our first few games it became clear that, like last year, our chief opponents would be King's Hospital and in fact it was the very last match of the season which decided the issue. We emerged victorious by the narrow margin of five points.

THE COLLINS CUP
Although we did not succeed in retaining this trophy, all our team played very well. W. O'Donoghue reached the quarter final and was narrowly beaten after a very exciting tussle. J. O'Donoghue reached the semi-final but also fell to Maher, the Synge St. lefthander, after a very fine performance. Both were selected to represent Leinster in the Schools' interprovincial match against Munster.
