2012 Business Lunch
Berkeley Hotel, John Teeling guest speaker
This year’s Annual Business Lunch will be held in the Berkeley Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 on Friday 9th March, eve of the Ireland v Scotland rugby international with guest speaker John Teeling.
JOHN TEELING
Guest speaker at the lunch is John Teeling, one of Ireland’s most successful and respected entrepreneurs. John has recently been in the news for having sold Cooley Distillery, a company he founded in 1987, to the US-based Beam, the fourth biggest spirits brand in the world, for a very tidy sum. However, John’s career story is about much more than whiskey. He is a veteran of mineral and oil exploration, having established numerous companies, of which a number are quoted on the London Stock Exchange. He has been involved in Africa since the mid 1980s and continues to travel around Africa and the Middle East.
John’s career started in UCD where he studied for a BComm. He subsequently did an MBA in Wharton and holds a doctorate from Harvard Business School. He has lectured on business and finance in University College Dublin for over 20 years. John has a witty turn of phrase to match his intelligence, and his tales as an entrepreneur will be of interest to pastmen in all walks of life.
Pastmen and their guests, parents, staff and friends of the College are all welcome to the Business Lunch, which is an ideal occasion to entertain friends and business associates in a lively and relaxed atmosphere.
Cost of the Lunch is €50 per person. Bookings must be paid in advance.
